In our NORMAPeople series, employees around the world talk about their day-to-day work, how they came to the company, and what they appreciate most about their jobs.
Ratsameekhae Paengsrisarn, Sales & Business Development Manager – EJT, at the NORMA Group site in Chonburi, Thailand, talks about the challenges she has faced on the job and how she manages to turn everything into something good.
Ratsameekhae, what do you like most about your job?
I want to establish a relationship with our customers. I am very communicative and interested in the person I am talking to. That makes it so much easier for me to meet new people and to build a relationship with them. The friendships and acquaintances that I have managed developed are a great benefit for me both personally and professionally.
When I got started in sales, I didn’t really expect networking to be such a significant and important part of my job. I had actually assumed that it would be kind of anonymous. But I’m glad I was wrong about that. One thing that has often happened is that a person from my network has contacted me with a request, even though we haven’t spoken for a while. That makes me proud because I know that I have done my job well and that there are a lot of people who trust me.
“My work is important and I want to make sure every customer is satisfied.”
I find it easy to communicate with our customers and help them work out whatever issues they might have. That’s where my motivation comes from.
Do you have any daily routines?
I always start my day with a good, hot cup of coffee. Then I open my inbox, write down my daily tasks, prioritize them and work through them one by one. I’m also in regular contact with our customers and keep an eye on the current status of orders.
What is the biggest challenge you face in your job?
The biggest challenge for me is that, with NORMA Group, I am working in a global company. Working regularly with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds means that there are many challenges involved, including different ways of working and time zones.
But at the same time, that is exactly the biggest advantage, because I have already been able to learn so many new things from people who come from different cultures. This is a great benefit and it helps me grow. At NORMA Group, everyone is an expert in their respective field and we all learn from and with each other.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I have a number of pets including a turtle, a fish and two hamsters – I spend a lot of time with them.
And sometimes I also play badminton with colleagues.
What are your goals for the future?
I would like our site in Thailand to grow even more and become more successful. My personal goal is, wherever I go and whatever I do, to always be a good person.
And to wrap things up, please complete the following sentence: I love my job because…
…I want to see NORMA Group grow and I want to grow with the company.
