Contributing to the success of global projects as an intern

This post is also available in: Deutsch

In our NORMAPeople series, employees around the world talk about their day-to-day work, how they came to the company and what they appreciate most about their jobs.

Teodora Bodiroza joined NORMA Group in March 2023 as an intern at our site in Novi Sad, Serbia, in the Group Marketing department. As a member of an international team, she experiences the dynamic collaboration and expertise that exists among different cultures and works on global projects.

Teodora, how did you come to NORMA Group?

I started looking for a job right after I finished my Master’s degree. I saw the job posting and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to start my career in marketing, especially as part of a global team. I submitted my application and after two rounds of interviews, I was offered the job.

What does your job involve? Do you have specific routines?

I contribute to strategic global projects in the area of corporate branding, digital alignment and implementation. For the moment I primarily focus on publishing new and updating existing content on the website, as well as creating website reports and defining SEO practices to improve our online presence.

“There is no constant routine or pattern for doing this job. Each task is different which provides a lot of space for learning and improving.”

What do you like most about your internship?

The best thing about the internship is definitely the knowledge and experience I have accumulated over the course of the past year. In addition to the practical work and the opportunity to learn from experts, the chance to be part of an international team and to meet lots of people from all over the world is absolutely invaluable. There is something new every day, and no two days are the same in the Group Marketing team. That’s really nice.

Can you tell us about some of the benefits and challenges of working in a global team?

In the beginning, I was worried about the distance and not being in the same room as my colleagues. We live in different countries and the fact that we come from different cultures and speak different languages made it a little bit daunting at first, but it was also a challenge and very exciting in a positive way.

“Even though we are so far apart, we manage to maintain a good relationship and strong communication to help us achieve our goals.”

I believe that this diversity is a major contributor to our success, because we can look at suggestions, ideas and advice from different angles. Unfortunately, we don’t often have the opportunity to meet in person, but when we do, it’s as if we see each other every day.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

I love traveling and I try to see as much of the world as possible. During the week, I like to meet my friends or watch a good TV show. I also go to the gym at least three times a week.

What advice would you give to someone considering an internship at NORMA Group?

Go for it! If you are ready to experience the real working world and you want to learn and develop on a daily basis, then an internship at NORMA Group is an ideal opportunity to unleash your potential.

What are your goals for the future?

I want to continue to grow and develop both personally and professionally. My goal is to broaden my knowledge in the areas of digital marketing and data analysis – preferably at NORMA Group!
