In our NORMAPeople series, employees from around the world talk about their day-to-day work, how they came to the company, and what they like about their jobs.

Žaklina Perić has been part of NORMA Group for ten years and works nowadays at the location in Serbia as a Supplier Quality Developer. In an interview, she talks about her career at NORMA Group, her proudest moments and her advice for young professionals in the automotive industry.

Žaklina, do you remember your first day at NORMA Group?

Yes, I still remember it very well. I even remember the smell of the new offices and the factory. Even today, this still takes me back in time and brings back memories. The highlight of my day was seeing the smiling faces greeting me. Even today, I am always happy to meet these people.

You have been working for NORMA Group for ten years. Looking back, what are you particularly proud of?

I am very proud of the company’s growth and reputation, customer inquiries that have been successfully completed, and large-scale projects being carried out. The young people we trained for their future careers also made a strong impression. I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with them – their energy is really refreshing.

What advice would you give to young people just starting their career in the automotive industry?

To be open! Be open for new people and new knowledge. Observe the processes and the people around you. The automotive industry and in particular NORMA Group offer young people a wide-ranging understanding of the entire business – that is a great advantage of our company. And not to forget the initiative that should drive them forward.

You had the chance to communicate with the biggest names in the automotive industry, what is it like to work with them?

Communication with customers, no matter how challenging it was, has always moved me and was one of the main reasons why I entered the quality department. Experts and, above all, great people work there who have the same goal we have – the satisfaction of the end user. I am still in contact with some of these people today, together we celebrate both business and private successes.
