In our NORMAPeople series, employees around the world talk about their day-to-day work, how they came to the company, and what they appreciate most about their jobs.
Stefan Kvrgic is an IME Specialist Intern at the NORMA Group site in Subotica, Serbia. In this interview, he talks about his career, his daily work routine and his wishes for the future.
Stefan, how long have you been working at NORMA Group?
I completed my degree in mechanical engineering last year and spent some time working as a web designer afterwards. I have now been with NORMA Group since July 2021.
How did you get this job?
As a web designer, it was of course possible to be creative, but I missed the challenges. And that was exactly what I was looking for – a challenge. I definitely do not want to sit at a desk all day long, I want to be active. I have a lot of friends in the automotive business and the stories they tell always sounded interesting. This made me want to work in this sector myself.
NORMA Group’s job advertisement sounded perfect and I applied immediately. I was not disappointed: I found the tasks here that challenged me and helped me move forward both professionally and personally.
What does your daily work routine look like?
My team and I sit down every day and make decisions that optimize production processes. Other tasks vary from project to project. No two days are the same – and that’s what makes my job so interesting.
What do you like most about your job?
I have a lot of opportunities to grow and learn – I never get bored. I also have great colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge with me. It is really important to be able to learn from experienced colleagues, especially when you are a beginner in a new field. They provide me with new ideas and information and give me room to develop personally and professionally.
I am proud of the progress I have made – I have learned a lot about manufacturing processes, tools, materials and documentation. Without the support of my colleagues, that would not have been possible in such a short period of time.
What do you do in your free time?
I like to go to the gym. Exercise is very important to me, especially when I spend a lot of time in front of the computer. When I am active, I can relax and clear my head. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends or reading a good book.
What do you look forward to every morning?
Every morning is a new beginning. I look forward to every day because I have people around me who love me. They give me the strength to forge ahead, to move forward and to always stay on top of things. I get all the support I need from them.
What goals do you want to achieve in the future?
I want to continue acquiring a lot of knowledge, constantly develop and further deepen the skills I have already acquired – my goal is to experience personal progress every day. I also want to spend more time with the people I love. To put it in a nutshell, I want to achieve the perfect work-life balance and live a healthy, happy life.
