Every year, NORMA Group employees around the world volunteer for social and environmental projects in their communities as part of NORMA Help Day. The goal of strengthening a sense of solidarity in the neighborhood and making a contribution to the community is at the heart of the event.
Maintal, Germany
At NORMA Group headquarters in Maintal, participants got involved in two local projects. One group designed barrier-free access to the sanitary facilities on the grounds of the children’s and youth park in Hochstadt. A visually appealing path was created using granite, pebbles and screed.
The other group actively supported a local wildlife association with construction work and prepared areas for new animal enclosures.
Atibaia, Brazil
In Atibaia, NORMA Help Day included activities to support children, young people and families in need through fun activities, presentations and the preparation of meals in collaboration with the charity organization Atipalhaços.
In addition, groceries were donated to a hospital specializing in cancer treatment.
Guichen, France
The colleagues in Guichen also split up into two groups. One group spent a day in a retirement home. Together with the seniors, they designed door hangers, folded the house newsletter and made pink ribbons. The pink ribbon is an international symbol that expresses solidarity with women who have breast cancer or are at particularly high risk of developing breast cancer.
The other group cleaned the streets of the Guichen business district. They collected about 30 kilograms of waste and 20 kilograms of glass.
Juarez, Mexico
Participants in Juarez also took part in two projects. One was a joint blood donation campaign by employees.
They also packed 1,493 food parcels at the municipal food bank, which benefited just as many families. And they organized a fundraising campaign in which half a ton of food was collected.
Tijuana, Mexico
The site in Tijuana invited pupils and their teachers from a nearby school with limited financial resources to a guided tour of a children’s museum – an excursion that included snacks for everyone.
Águeda, Portugal
The team in Águeda supported the organization A4 – Association of Animal Friends of Águeda. The organization is dedicated to animal protection, care and welfare. NORMA Group employees participated in various activities to support the association and donated materials that were needed.
Chonburi, Thailand
The volunteers in Chonburi spent time with children at an orphanage, where they played together and supported the facility with donations of goods.
Anderstorp, Sweden
This year, together with a children’s aid organization, the colleagues from Anderstorp organized a trip to an adventure park for 75 socially disadvantaged children and young people. They also took care of the catering for the entire group.
Hustopeče, Czech
The participants in Hustopeče helped to spruce up a local daycare center by doing some painting work.
St. Clair, US
At the St. Clair site, employees volunteered at a soup kitchen that provides free meals to people in need.
Subotica, Serbia
The team in Subotica supported the organization Dečje srce, which supports people with developmental disabilities and their families. Together with the members of the organization, the volunteers created various arrangements with flowers, candles and soaps.
Afterwards, representatives of the organization held a bazaar at the site, where the handmade products were exhibited and sold. The proceeds benefited the association.
NORMA Help Day has been held at company headquarters in Maintal since 2014 and has since developed into an annual global initiative at all sites. NORMA Group employees also performed volunteer work last year: NORMA Help Day 2024.
