“Diversity helps generate new ideas”

This post is also available in: Deutsch

In our Diversity@NORMA series, we highlight the diversity of personalities that work at NORMA Group. The focus in 2024 is on the diverse training and educational backgrounds of our employees. Representatives from various departments and different countries share their experience of working with colleagues who have sometimes taken different training or educational paths and how this is precisely why a rewarding exchange of information and ideas takes place at NORMA Group.

Wijittra Prapairat, Karnpitcha Khunachai and Kuncharika Sornnon work in Supply Chain Management at our site in Chonburi, Thailand. In this interview, they talk about the importance of knowledge transfer in their team and how diverse educational backgrounds contribute to the continuous development of NORMA Group.

What advantages are generated by a diversity of educational backgrounds?

Wijittra: I have a degree in English Business Communication and have worked in the supply chain sector for over ten years. Over the course of my nine years with NORMA Group, I’ve learned that when we communicate about our processes through brainstorming, we share knowledge that ultimately helps us communicate with customers.

“We learn from the experiences of others and can put these experiences to practical use in our own working environments.”

Karnpitcha: Exactly! Despite our different educational backgrounds, we still learn from each other. I have completed marketing courses as well as a training program as a customs agent. I use this knowledge to ensure that the import and export process at our site runs smoothly and quickly and that our product is available to all customers as fast as possible. I’ve been working for NORMA Group for more than eight years, but I already have more than 20 years of experience in this field.

Kuncharika: I have a degree in Food Science and Technology but I’ve also been working in coordination and order processing for ten years. I have been with the NORMA Group team for five years. We can develop new solutions by exchanging ideas within the team.

What valuable insights have you gained from working together?

Karnpitcha: Most importantly, a lot of good advice. We have all had a range of different experiences – experiences that we can apply in our work.

Kuncharika: I couldn’t agree more! In the end, the creativity of each individual helps make the results much better.

Wijittra: That’s right, we are only successful if we work together as a team, because each person has their own personal strengths.

What role do your different qualifications play in your daily work?

Kuncharika: During my studies, I learned to take very detailed notes – something that helps me to avoid mistakes. I still use this knowledge in my daily work today.

Wijittra: I learned early on that communication is the key to success – whether at university or at work.

Karnpitcha: For me, educational qualifications play almost no role in my professional life. It’s more important to be open to new things and always be ready to learn.

How do diverse educational backgrounds enrich NORMA Group?

Kuncharika: Diversity helps generate new ideas, and new ideas are essential for the development of the company.

Wijittra: That’s exactly right. Being open to knowledge ensures the continuous development of each individual. And the company automatically continues to develop as a result.

Karnpitcha: Different training programs make it possible for us to learn from each other and incorporate this knowledge into our work processes. This enables us to offer customers the best possible support.
