The engineer made new friends and even learnt a little Serbian. Shan Zhang has been working at the Global Re-Engineering Center in Qingdao since two years. There, she <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.normagroup.com\/en\/emission-scr-technology\/\">develops and validates Urea lines <\/a>that are adapted to the local customers\u2019 needs.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Why did you go to Subotica?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The main goal was to strengthen technical communication and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.normagroup.com\/corp\/en\/About-Worldwide?open\">cooperation between APAC and EMEA<\/a>. That worked out very well. I still join the regular EMEA urea team meeting via Skype every week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Impressions from Shan\u2019s bubble assignment in Subotica:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>What did you learn?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I learned about the design and validation of high-temperature urea lines, which we don\u2019t produce in Qingdao. I also learned to ask for clarification, if I haven\u2019t understood something. I even picked up some Serbian words.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>What did you enjoy most?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The people \u2013 they gave me wonderful memories. They also taught me how to dance, for example at the plant\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve party. I still have the gift they gave me when I left \u2013 a cup with the team photo that only becomes visible when filled with hot liquid.<\/p>\n<h2>NORMA Group Bubble Assignments<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">During a Bubble Assignment, an employee works for one to three months at a location abroad. The goal is to increase collaboration between the locations and to learn from each other, bridging different countries and cultures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">During the assignment, each employee has a sponsor in the host country who provides guidance and support.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">NORMA Group launched the Bubble Assignment program in 2008.
